THE OBJECTIVE is to build, for North Shropshire, a Railway Heritage Centre that represents and displays a working history of a once important railway town and junction. Further, to run the site on a commercial basis to ensure its long term future and to link with the origin of the delicacy Gingerbread and the adjacent Shropshire Union Canal.

This project is no flight of fancy! Back in 1994 a Feasibility Study of over a hundred pages was professionally prepared which has encouraged the Society to continue to pursue the project. Since then, the Society's Project Steering Group and Sub Committee has developed the essential information in detail.
